With ‘world’s longest over-ocean zipline’ set to open in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, today, here’s what you need to know about the Western Cape’s latest attraction.

The Mossel Bay Zipline stretches 1.1km from the rocks at St. Blaze to the deck at the Aquarium, thumping Haiti’s Dragon’s Breath over-ocean zipline by over 300 meters.

But, it’s not just the length that the Mossel Bay’s zipline is setting the bar on, the line can reach speeds of upto 80 km/h!

Zip World Velocity, in Wales is the world fastest over-land zipline reaching speeds of up to 160 km/h but has the advantage of rides starting from a high altitude mountain.

Thrill seekers can expect ‘unparalleled views of the cliffs, ocean and sea life’ according to the operator.

According to the Mossel Bay Municipality, The Mossel Bay Zipline will host a soft launch today with Municipal Manager Thys Giliomee having the honors to officially zip down the first ride.
