Motorists in the Western Cape have been warned to exercise extreme caution after flooding resulted in road and bridge damages.
The Breede Valley Municipality said the Zwelethemba Bridge was seriously damaged by flood waters.
The municipality has closed the bridge for motor vehicles as well as pedestrians in order to conduct emergency repair works.

A temporary entrance and exit route has been established from the R60, connecting to Njila Avenue.
All rivers in the Breede Valley area are in flood and more water is expected.
In a separate incident the Lustigan bridge (R101) that runs over N1 at Paarl reportedly curved in last night.
