Water supply to be disrupted in certain parts of Cape Town

Water supply to be disrupted in certain parts of Cape Town.
CBD and Atlantic seaboard residents advised not to drink municipal water until further notice

Water supply in the Panorama and Welgelegen area will be disrupted on Thursday 3 October 2019 from 15:00 until 18:00.

The water supply in the Plattekloof area will also be disrupted on Friday 4 October 2019 from 12:00 until 16:00.

The disruption will be caused by  a zero pressure test on the water infrastructure performed by the City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Department  in the Panorama, Welgelegen and Plattekloof areas.

This work forms part of the City’s Water Demand Management Plan and will significantly reduce the occurrence of pipe bursts and subsequent water losses.

Residents are kindly requested to store water in clean, sealed containers for use during this period.

It is advisable to keep all taps closed during this period to prevent any water loss and/or damage when the water supply is restored.

The City apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused.
