Watch: UCT students hold overnight vigil for Uyinene Mrwetyana

The rape and murder of 19 year old, UCT student Uyinene Mrwetyana has broken soo many hearts. The high flying, first year film student was raped, before being murdered at at Clareinch post office by an employee meant to serve here.

A 42 year old male suspect was arrested in connection with here disappearance and was charged with her murder on Monday. Police say the man confessed to Uyenene’s murder.

Uyinene Mrwetyana murder is one of many widely reported cases of violence against women which have sparked national outrage under #AmINext.

A few weeks ago, Meghan Cremer, a horse rider from the Western Cape was reported missing and her body was found in a sand mine in Phillipi. Just recently, Lynette Volschenk was found murdered at her apartment building in Bellville, Cape Town.
