Watch: The Cape Party ‘slaughters’ watermelon on a Cape Town beach

A minor party from the Western Cape province, the Cape Party posted a video on Facebook in which the Founder ‘sacrificed’ a watermelon on a Cape Town beach.

In December protesters slaughtered a sheep on Clifton Fourth beach after beach goers were asked to leave the beach by a private security company, PPA Security.

The watermelon ‘slaughter’ by the Cape Party is a response to the Clifton Fourth beach incident.

The video was posted with a statement that read “Following the shocking slaughter of a sheep on Clifton 4th Beach last month, the CAPE PARTY’s response to EFF radicals was this age old Cape tradition. Capetonians must not take a backward step against this aggressive cultural imperialism which seeks to eradicate our way of life.”

Jack Miller, founder of the party said Cape Town does not slaughter animals or tolerate racism.

The Electoral Commission of SA’s official results page shows that the Cape Party received 4 473 votes in the 2016 municipal elections, amounting to 0.10% of the provincial vote and 0.01% of the national vote

The party’s goal is to have the Western Cape declared an independent state.
