Ottery community members gathered in protest at the Wynberg Magistrate’s court against a 66 year-old man accused of sexually abusing 18 boys.
Community members were protesting against the man receiving bail.
The man was arrested on Monday after 2 boys aged 9 and 12 related their ordeal . The boys said the man would drive them off to secluded areas were he would give them drugs, perform sexual acts on them and pay them between R 36 and R 300.
He will remain in custody until the 29th of January.
South African rapper AKA’s murder has left the country in shock. However, the police have made progress in the case and arrested suspects in connection with the murder.
A resident of Kensington has expressed frustration with the poor service provided by the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA). The resident, who relies on PRASA’s train service for her daily commute, described the service as “pathetic” and called on the agency to improve its operations.
