Watch: Magashule gifts Cape Town resident with R400 food money

Magashule said that him gifting a resident with money whilst on the campaign trail was not vote buying, but the 'right thing to do'.

ANC Secretary General Ace Magashule yesterday gave a Phillipi resident R400 during a door-to-door campaign the party is currently conducting in Cape Town.

According to News24, Magashule said that him gifting a resident with money whilst on the campaign trail was not vote buying, but the ‘right thing to do’.

In a video posted by the SABC Western Cape on their Facebook page, Magashule is seen looking inside a resident’s fridge. He then speaks to the woman who lives in the house and says “there’s no food in this house” to which the woman responds “things are bad here”. Magashule then reaches for his pockets and hands the woman R400.
