A truck jack-knifed on the N1 incoming near Plattekloof Road and caused a crash.

Traffic was brought to a stand still on the N1 to get into Cape Town on Friday morning after a truck jack-knifed, causing a 13 vehicle pile-up.

Emergency services attended to injured motorists and traffic was diverted around the scene using the Plattekloof Road off-ramp.

By 10.30am, the traffic department said the N1 had been fully reopened.
