The Western Cape Government: Health and Wellness (WCGHW) has appointed an investigator to look into rape allegations involving a student and Professor from the University of Cape Town (UCT).
“Western Cape Government: Health and Wellness and UCT have a zero-tolerance policy on sexual abuse.”
The person(s) implicated are employees of the WCG:H in the bilateral partnership with UCT for academic purposes.” WCGHW spokesperson Marika Champion said.
An anonymous social media account apparently run by the victim revealed that the rape occured on the university premises.
In a series of tweets, the woman claims she reported the incident to UCT officials, however officials have failed to act/suspend rapist.
UCT vice-chancellor Mamokgethi Phakeng claims the student had refused help from the university.
