Western Cape confirms first coronavirus case

The individual who tested positive for the virus in Western Cape is a 36 year old male who had traveled to multiple countries including Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Turkey.
Western Cape province sees spike in Covid-19 cases

There is now a confirmed case of the coronavirus COVID-19 in the Western Cape, the Western Cape government has confirmed.

With the latest confirmed cases, 1 in the Western Cape, 4 in Gauteng and 1 in KwaZulu-Natal the total number of confirmed cases in South Africa now stands at 13.

The individual who tested positive for the virus in Western Cape is a 36 year old male who had traveled to multiple countries including Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Turkey.

The man returned to South Africa on the 9th of March 2020.

The NICD said All the patients have now been advised and those who are symptomatic have started receiving treatment.

Some of these patients are already in hospital while some,specifically those who are asymptomatic are in self quarantine, the NICD revealed on twitter.

Contact tracing has also started for all these cases.
