The Theewaterskloof Municipality deployed its law enforcement unit to stop the attempted land occupation in Caledon.

The Theewaterskloof Municipality in the Western Cape managed to prevent an attempted land occupation in Caledon over the weekend. The municipal land was allocated for a housing project. The DA has called on the municipality to do everything in its power to protect the land, as the municipality is already dealing with the occupation of Knoflokskraal farm in Grabouw.

Last year, Patricia de Lille was locked in talks with various stakeholders to resolve the illegal land occupation in Grabouw. A task team was established, and a study will be conducted to determine layout possibilities by the end of March 2023.
