The Ocean View community has been rocked by protests this afternoon after it was confirmed that seven-year-old Emaan Solomons had died from injuries sustained when she was caught in crossfire between rival gangs.
Emaan sustained a bullet wound to the chest, she succumbed to her injuries upon arrival at False Bay hospital.
The shooting did not only claim the life of Emaan but that of a 31-year-old man.
Ocean View residents are fed up with the crime levels that are spiraling out of control in the community, when police where deployed to the scene of the shooting, some residents attacked the officers.
SAPS issued a statement confirming that a number of locals “attacked police” when they arrived on the scene.
Two separate murder cases have been opened by SAPS.
