The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI ) says it will remain fully operational and in service to respond to emergencies during the Covid-19 national lockdown.
The NSRI responds to emergencies at sea and on inland waters.
During the Covid-19 pandemic they are also supporting land based emergency services.
According to the NSRI, they are adhering to all precautions and protocols as directed by the Department of Health during rescue operations, including operations involving patient evacuation from ships.
The NSRI has urged the public to remain safe during the national lockdown and take precautions to maintain home safety so as to avoid water related emergencies at home.
” A home swimming pool should have child proof barriers to prevent children’s unsupervised access to the pool. Supervision for children around water should be strictly adhered to.”
NSRI is a Non-Profit Organisation and relies on public funding to continue saving lives. The NSRI is appealing to the public for donations to help them continue to save lives.
