The father of Tawana Musimurimwa, the teenager who disappeared while swimming at Table View Beach on Saturday, yesterday joined the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) and police water wing in searching for his son.
Comforter Musimurimwa joined the search party in a desperate attempt to find his 14-year-old son.
The distraught father said the situation was very difficult for him and his family.
“It’s very difficult, especially for his brother who saw everything. I am also worried about his mother she hasn’t been eating. I wish I could find my son, in any condition,” Musimurimwa said.
The Grade 9 pupil from Parow High School went to Table View beach on Saturday with his brother and uncle.
He was swept out to sea by a rip current after encountering some difficulty in the surf.
Tawana’s father says he was called around 4 pm with the news that his son had been swept out to sea.
“ We went there, and the rescue team and helicopters were searching, but they didn’t find anything,” he said.
Despite an extensive air and shoreline search, no sign of the teenager has been found .
