CoCT national lockdown

The City of Cape Town’s (CoCT) emergency and policing services are using loud hailers in vehicles to inform and raise awareness to residents in various townships about the national 21-day lockdown.

The CoCT is also distributing pamphlets, containing health and safety information to residents in these communities.

“In a bid to ensure that all residents in the City are aware of the 21-day lockdown, officers are using the loud hailers while driving in the law enforcement vehicles – informing the residents of the lockdown. One of the townships the officers visited, was the Kanana informal settlement in Gugulethu. The City says it is using the loud hailers to issue a loud and clear call to safety, in order to combat the spread of Covid-19. Pamphlets containing information on symptoms and the prevention of the corona virus were also distributed.”
