The City of Cape Town (CoCT) has issued an update on the closure of driving licence testing centres following positive Covid-19 cases at the centres.

The City says 10 centres will remain closed until further notice, due to decontamination.

The centres that will remain closed are: Goodwood, Lingelethu West, Brackenfell, Hillstar, Bellrail in Bellville, Gallows Hill, Fish Hoek, Kuilsriver, Somerset West and Gordon’s Bay.

CoCT’s Traffic Service announced the closure of nine of the driving licence testing centres last week on Sunday, 21 June.

The City said that the facilities are being deep cleaned and would reopen once sufficient staff members are available to resume duties.

The City advised that people whose learner and driving license tests had been affected by the closures would be contacted by the respective Driving Licence Testing Centres for alternative test dates.

The City apologises for any inconvenience these closures may cause.
