Taxi driver arrested for offering R200 bribe

The driver did not possess the necessary documentation to drive a midi bus

Police have arrested a 45 year old taxi driver on the N1 outside Beaufort West for trying to bribe a traffic official.

According to Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa, the taxi driver attempted to bribe the officer by offering him R200.

Africa says the man has been detained at the Beaufort West Police station and he will appear in court soon.

The traffic chief said the driver did not possess the necessary documentation to drive a midi bus.
