Strong winds delay MSC Musica docking at Cape Town Harbour

An attempt to enter the port at 5 am on Friday proved futile as the winds remained strong. The Captain of the ship refused to lift anchor till the wind drops.

The City of Cape Town traffic services has alerted the public that due to strong winds, there have been delays in docking the 93 000-tonne luxury cruise ship MSC Musica.

The ship was expected to dock on Thursday at 1 pm, a City of Cape Town official said “The MSC Musica will not be able to enter the port due to strong winds.”

An attempt to enter the port at 5 am on Friday proved futile as the winds remained strong. The Captain of the ship refused to lift anchor till the wind drops.

The Cruise Ship will only be docked at 2 am on Saturday.
