Stellenbosch police are looking for any pertinent information from women who have been conned by a fraudster named Rudi Brits.
Rudi Brits allegedly befriended wealthy white women on social media platforms before engaging in romantic relationships with them.
According to the police after moving in with the women, Brits would borrow considerable amounts of money and then vanish with it and some expensive household goods.
Rudi Brits was arrested by the Eastern Cape Flying Squad in November 2019 and faces 20 charges of fraud.
According to IOL, the cases of theft and fraud were committed from 2010 until the date of his arrest on a Stellenbosch case, and a total of 20 cases are coordinated by Colonel Deon Beneke, the Acting Station Commander of Stellenbosch police station.
Victims of Brits that have not laid a complaint at SAPS yet are requested to contact Colonel Deon Beneke on 021 -8095109 or 0828509742 for assistance.
Rudi Brits is currently in custody and will make his next court appearance in Stellenbosch Magistrate’s Court on February 6 for a bail application.
