South Africa’s Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize announced on Sunday evening that two more people had succumbed to the Covid-19 virus bringing the national death toll to 11- the latest fatalities are from the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
Western Cape has therefore recorded 2 deaths from the Covid-19 virus so far. The latest victim is an an 82-year-old woman.
The woman was admitted in ICU on 29 March, she had presented with fever, short breath, body pains, dry cough and sore throat.

The first Covid-19 fatality in the Western Cape was a 48-year-old woman who had an underlying health condition.
The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in South Africa now stands at 1655.
