Zimbabwean musician gunned down in Mitchells Plain

Musician's dream cut short.

Singer, songwriter and cinematographer Ray Ceeh, was shot dead in Lentegeur, Cape Town, on Wednesday night, Western Cape police said on Thursday.

The 32-year-old Zimbabwean, was shot and killed after dropping off colleagues in Mitchells Plain.

It’s believed he was shot thrice in the neck.

“It is apparent that the victim was about to drop passengers in the area when three unknown men approached his vehicle and fired one shot to his neck and he totally lost the control of his vehicle,” said police spokesperson Siyabulela Malo.

Faizal Sayed, Deen Channel CEO, said in a statement that he was “shattered and shocked” after receiving the news of his former staffer’s murder.

“This is really sad as he left his own country to come here with the aim of becoming something in life. It is a disgrace that his life was taken in our country,” he added.

Circumstances leading to his death are currently being investigated by the police and no arrest has been made at this stage.
