Western Cape Legislator Shaun August was shocked to find five boomslang snakes in his Zeekoevlei garden on Tuesday. He alerted a snake catcher, who identified the female snake as a boomslang, a venomous species of snake.
The catcher also warned that there could be up to 12 babies in his garden. Boomslangs are considered potentially deadly and are one of six venomous snakes found in the Western Cape.
