Blackheath protests result in road closures

“Routes D01, D02, D03, and D04 delayed, due to ongoing protesting preventing buses to be dispatched,” MyCiti’s official Twitter page read this morning.

Several roads have been closed due to the protests currently underway in Blackheath.

It is not yet clear what caused the protests to erupt, however City of Cape Town officials said MyCity staff, along with Transport Management Centre (TMC), are “communicating with drivers”.

Roads closed include Wimbledon Road between Range and Buttskop roads, as well as Eersteriver Way northbound towards Hindle Road.
