Second body found on the False Bay coast this week

The body of a 22-year-old woman was found on Monwabisi Beach in Khayelitsha on Tuesday. This is the second body found on the False Bay coast this week.

Her body was found by a jogger in the morning.

“Harare SAPS attended a scene at Monwabisi beach, Harare. At approximately 10.35am police were shown the body of a 22-year-old woman who was declared dead on the scene. She has been identified but her full details have been withheld until her next of kin has been notified,” Police spokesperson Frederick van Wyk said.

Ward councillor Bongile Ngcani told the IOL, that for years the vicinity has been used as a dumping site for crimes potentially perpetrated outside the area.

Ngcani said visibility of metro police and neighbourhood watches and the general upgrade and maintenance of the vicinity is needed.

On Sunday, a man’s body was found on Mnandi beach. According to police, the body was discovered by a passer-by at around 6am.
