The reopening of Parliament this week is expected to affect Cape Town traffic. Cape Town motorist have been told to anticipate massive traffic jams and delays.
Motorists can expect extended road closures between 6am and midnight Thursday, February 7, as the President delivers the State of the Nation Address (SONA).
The City of Cape Town said “There will also be limited road closures in effect for rehearsals on Tuesday February 5 and Wednesday February.”
Areas that will be affected by the road closures include the Newlands, City Bowl, city bound lanes: M3and N2, normal flow of traffic will be affected.
The M3 and N2 will be closed again on Thursday at 5.45, with the M5 being the best alternative route.
Parking restrictions will be imposed in the city from midnight on 6 February to 11:45 pm on 7 February.
