Porcupine carcass washed up on Melbosstrand Beach: SPCA investigates

The cause of death of the porcupine that washed up on Melbosstrand Beach in Cape Town this week is unknown and is being investigated by the SPCA.

A porcupine carcass washed up on Melbosstrand Beach in Cape Town and the SPCA is investigating the circumstances. The porcupine was found by a beachgoer and handed over to the SPCA for a post-mortem examination. This follows the discovery of a female adult aardvark washed up on Sunset Beach in Milnerton last week.

A Cape fur seal had to be euthanised after it was attacked and stoned by four men at Monwabisi Beach in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. The SPCA has warned against misinformation and will issue a statement with its findings once the post-mortem results are ready.
