114 suspects arrested, 9 firearms confiscated in Blue Downs cluster, CT

“Serious and violent crimes are high on the priority list of the Western Cape police and every endeavour is made to ensure the safety of the community in this province,”

Police in the Blue Down’s cluster of Cape Town say they’ve arrested 114 suspects for various offences in the last seven days.

The Cluster comprises of areas like Mfuleni, Eerste River, Belhar and Ravensmead.

Police seized nine unlicensed firearms and ammunition at various locations during the crime operations.

Two additional people were arrested in Mfuleni for trading in liquor without a license, nearly 150-thousand litres of liquor was confiscated.

Police spokesperson, Andre Traut, says  “Serious and violent crimes are high on the priority list of the Western Cape police and every endeavour is made to ensure the safety of the community in this province.
