Police and POPS Crack Down on Crime in Hout Bay with Joint Operation

A taxi driver was forcibly “released” from the Hout Bay Police Station by a group of amaphela owners.

The police in Hout Bay had a joint operation between enforcement agencies, police and POPS, on January 23rd, to respond to an arson attack on a MyCiTi bus in the area.

During the operation, 40 impounds and 881 fines were issued, and one taxi driver was arrested for obstructing an officer in the execution of his/her duties and resisting arrest. A group of amaphela owners gathered at the police station and forced the release of the arrested taxi driver.
