WATCH: CPF protests outside provincial police department against gangsterism

Mitchells Plain Cluster Community Policing Forum mobilized in front of the Western Cape Provincial Commissioners of police building, demanding a plan of action to deal with gangsterim.

Community Policing Forums in Cape Town give Police Minister, Bheki Cele a 48 hour ultimatum

The Mitchells Plain cluster represents, among other areas, Grassy Park, Steenberg, Philippi, Mitchells Plain and Athlone.

Last week various Community Policing Forums in Cape Town affected by gang violence gave Police Minister, Bheki Cele 48 hours to stabilise the situation.

A CPF member from Strandfontein said:

“Today I stood in the Gap for my community Strandfontein and for our hardworking policeman and women, and we together stood in the gap for our gang infested community.”

“We had enough of ongoing shooting, we had enough of picking up dead bodies, we had enough of our police officers slain in the line of duty.

I’m wrapped in crime scene tape because our community wakes up to seeing crime scene tape, we held hostage because all we see is crime scene tape everywhere. We crippled by crime but today we demand resources, we demand a plan of action,”  she added.
