On Wednesday, Western Cape Premier, Alan Winde visited a Pick n Pay store during the newly introduced ‘pensioner hour’ which was put in place to cater to the elderly amid the coronavirus.
Pick n Pay announced on Tuesday that it will be introducing ‘pensioner hour’ at all its Pick n Pay and Hyper supermarkets across the country.
Pick n Pay has set aside a special hour from 7am to 8am every Wednesday for elders to shop, yesterday being the first ‘pensioner hour’.
Premier Winde, commended Pick n Pay for going the extra mile in protecting the elderly during the outbreak of the coronavirus.
” I really want to commend the innovators and of course the businesses in our society on helping us, first of all, protect our citizens,” Premier Winde said.
