Covid-19 Health Minister Zweli Mkhize

On Wednesday morning, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 709.

The minister said the largest number of scattered cases are in JHB. In the Western Cape, scattered cases are around Cape Town.

He has urged all South Africans to take the 21 day lockdown seriously as it is intended to slow the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

He said the lock down will address internal transmission among communities.

“It’s the mixing of people we want to limit,” he said.
