Tembo who is from Heideveld was left heartbroken last week on Wednesday after traffic cops arrested him for speeding as he rushed to see his wife after receiving a call from his wife’s doctor informing him that she had little time left.

He said the City of Cape Town traffic cops left him traumatized after they refused to listen to him as he begged them to let him go to his wife Joan, 74.

Unfortunately, she died before he could reach her side at Lentegeur Hospital.

Tembo has been cleared of all criminal charges after the NPA declined to prosecute him.

“The state declined to prosecute on humanitarian grounds,” said NPA spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila.
