Norwegian Cruise Line has just celebrated its first season of cruising from Cape Town, South Africa. The 12-day journey included visits to Mossel Bay, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Richard’s Bay, Luderitz, and Walvis Bay, with an overnight stay in Cape Town.

Kevin Bubolz, VP and managing director of Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa, said that they are excited to offer South African guests the opportunity to cruise with them right from their doorstep.

The cruise has been successful and the Western Cape minister of Finance and Economic Opportunities Mireille Wenger noted that it generates R300 million in economic impact for the Western Cape.

Norwegian Dawn is set to take to the waters from January 20, 2024, for a 12-day sail from Port Louis, Mauritius, and a 21-day voyage along Africa’s west coast from Cape Town to Barcelona, Spain.
