The NSRI has urged the public to take extra precautionary measures when near or on beaches from now till the later part of the coming week. The alert has been issued because of the Full Moon Spring Tide.
NSRI said Full Moon Spring Tide brings the higher than normal high tide and lower than normal low tide during the twice daily high tide and the twice daily low tide. These tides can pull swimmers out to sea therefore discretion is advised.
The public is advised to swim where the lifeguards are readily available and to swim in the designated safe areas marked by red and yellow flags.
