Zane Kilian, the 39-year-old private investigator charged in connection with tracking the phone of slain top cop and anti-gang unit member Charl Kinnear appeared for his bail application in the Belville Regional Court on Thursday.
During the bail application it emerged that phone numbers of Cape Town law enforcement officials and underworld kingpins appeared on a ping list linked to Killian.
According to EWN, Prosecutor Greg Wolmarans read out a list containing more than 5,300 cellphone pings linked to Zain Kilian’s cellphone.
Phone numbers belonging to senior anti-gang unit officers, including Commander Andre Lincoln and Western Cape detectives boss Jeremy Vearey were on the ping list.
Other numbers listed are those of alleged underworld figures Jerome Booysen, André Naudé, Ralph Stanfield as well a that of Colonel Kinnear’s wife.
Kinnear was killed outside his Bishop Lavis home on 18 September 2020.
Kilian was arrested days after Kinnear was shot.
