Nafiz Modack charged with murder of Anti-Gang Unit detective Charl Kinnear

Suspected crime underworld figure Nafiz Modack has been charged with the murder Anti-Gang Unit detective Charl Kinnear.

Modack appeared at the Blue Downs regional court on Friday morning alongside four other men, including an Anti-Gang Unit Member.

Modack,39 was charge for for Kinnear’s murder alongside car salesman Ricardo Morgan, 36.

This now brings the total of suspects charged for the murder of Lieutenant Colonel Kinnear to three.

Former rugby player Zane Kilian, who was arrested shortly after the shooting, is also charged with the murder.

Modack was also charged with attempts to murder Kinnear in the days leading up to a failed hand grenade attack at Kinnear’s home in 23 November 2019.

Kinnear was murdered outside his home in Bishop Lavis, Cape Town, on 18 September 2020.
