Oudtshoorn Disaster Management said at least 8 vehicles have had to be towed away after getting stuck at the Swartberg Pass due to heavy snowfall.
Motorists from neighboring towns such as George, Mossel Bay and Knysna continue to drive up the pass, disobeying road closure signs.
The Swartberg Pass has been closed since Thursday afternoon following heavy snowfall in the last few days.
Authorities said the conditions of the road are extremely dangerous even for 4×4 vehicles.
People in the Garden Route and Karoo have been requested to share the important information that the Swartberg Pass remains closed.
