Milnerton mall armed robbers caught after a dramatic high speed chase

Two armed robbers were arrested after a high speed chase following an armed robbery at Milnerton mall in Cape town.

According to the African News Agency five robbers held up staff at a computer store situated in a Milnerton mall and fled with computer equipment.

The robbers were pursued by members of the mall’s security in a daring high speed pursuit,and the robbers collided with a motorcyclist on the corner of Giel Basson and Uys Krige drives. After the first collision the robbers were not deterred they kept on fleeing and on the corner of Giel Basson Drive and Voortrekker Road they again collided with another vehicle, whereafter they ran further on foot.

The motorcyclist and the motorist involved in the two collisions were not seriously injured.

Two of the five suspects were arrested by members of the Parow SAPS flying squad.The stolen goods were retrieved as well as a 9mm firearm used in the robbery. The three robbers who managed to evade arrest are still being sought after by local police.
