Police are investigating a case armed robbery after a man was stabbed and robbed on the Wilderness beach on Friday 23 April at around 16:30.

The George Herald reported the victim, André du Toit, an advocate from Bloemfontein was visiting the area with his wife.

While walking back to their guest house after a walk on the beach in the area between the Wilderness Beach Hotel and Wilderness beach he was approached and threatened by two young coloured men.

Du Toit said they grabbed and threatened him.

One of the attackers who was armed with a gun and a knife, stabbed him while the other grabbed his cellphone before running off.

Fortunately after the attack Du Toit came across two people on the beach who assisted him to safety.

He sustained a stab wound to the front of his body in the neck area near his collarbone. He was admitted to hospital and reported the incident to the police the following day. He was discharged from hospital on Sunday 25 April.
