Macassar residents have taken to the streets in protest over food parcel deliveries.
“The people are hungry. The government promised people food,” a Macassar resident said.
Residents have also gone on a looting spree, targeting local spaza shops.
According to reports police have been deployed to help restore calm to the area.

Yesterday four trucks were pelted with stones and looted in the Western Cape.
Two of the trucks were transporting food relief parcels to the Bishop Lavis community.
Four suspects where apprehended and are expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
