Somerset had to be cordoned off by the South African Police Service after a man was found strapped with a bomb around his body.
According to information shared on the Crime Fighters Helderberg Basin Facebook Page, a bomb was strapped to a security officer’s chest after their SBV Cash Van was hijacked.
The vehicle was reportedly hijacked in Stellenbosch where the suspects attached the bomb to one of the guards before, throwing him out of the vehicle.
The latest reports on the incident say, the bomb has been disarmed and will be sent to ballistics for testing.
