It has been nearly a month since the horrific BMW accident on Sable Road on the N1 at Century City, however for the driver Taufiq Carr, the memories are still fresh.

Carr said whenever he closes his eyes, he relives the horror moments.

“All I see is myself driving, the car starting to wobble, hitting the barricade and then the thudding sound that came after,” Carr narrated to YOU at Life Vincent Pallotti where he has been recovering since the accident.

The 26-year-old businessman crashed his BMW in an apparent street race and lost both legs in the accident.

His friend Imraan Ebrahim escaped with only a scratch on his hand.

After the incident the Western Cape Provincial Department of Transport and Public works said it would put in place laws to make roads safer and reduce cases of drag racing .
