Graça Machel’s tenure as the University of Cape Town (UCT) Chancellor will be coming to an end on the 31st of December and the UCT took last week’s graduation ceremony as an opportunity to bid farewell to the outgoing Chancellor.
Machel has presided over the post for the past 20 years after being first elected on September 18 1999.
She was re-elected for a second term, uncontested in 2010.
