Former leader of Hard livings gang, Rashied Staggie, was shot dead in Salt River on Friday morning.
The gangster was sitting in a friend’s car outside his house when he was shot.
Surveillance footage from his house shows two guys approaching the car and spraying him with bullets just after 9am.
Earlier reports suggested that Staggie was in a critical condition in hospital under police guard, however Novela Potelwa from the South African Police Service (SAPS) said he died upon arrival.
Staggie was out on parole after serving more than a decade behind bars for rape.
His murder comes a day after Hard Livings leader Ballie Tips was killed in Westridge, Mitchells Plain.
In 1996 Staggies’s twin brother, Rashaad, was shot and burned alive by members of People Against Gangsterism and Drugs in Salt River.
