A fire broke out at a storage warehouse in Parow on Monday morning.

Fire crews were alerted to the blaze shortly after 5am.

40 firefighters, 10 fire-fighting appliances, as well as an aerial appliance were dispatched to the scene on the corners of Fritz Spilhaus Avenue and Jean Simonis Street.

City’s Fire and Rescue Service’s Jermaine Carelse said the roof of the warehouse collapsed and crews were working to protect the adjacent buildings.

The cause of the fire is not yet clear.

No injuries have been reported.
