Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, has revealed that his son has recently installed new high-tech security measures at his South African home due to concerns about kidnapping. Errol, who himself has experienced break-ins at his home and has dealt with armed intruders in the past, described the new measures as “first class” and stated that he is used to being barricaded in due to living in crime-ridden areas in the past.

In December, contractors arrived at Errol’s home in Langebaan, located 90 miles north of Cape Town, to install the new measures.

With a history of living in crime-ridden areas such as Johannesburg and Pretoria, Errol is no stranger to the need for heightened security, having killed three armed intruders in his own home in 1998. But with his son’s immense wealth and fame, the fear of kidnapping looms large, and Elon is taking no chances.
