Durbanville: Father and daughter attacked and robbed while cycling

With major cycling events coming up in a few months, runners and cyclists have become easy targets whilst practicing on the trails.

A Durbanville father and daughter were attacked over the weekend while cycling.

Three men armed with knives attacked the pair and stole cell phones and cash. A security company said the suspects fled the crime scene when some farmers came to help the father and daughter.

There has been a notable increase in these kinds of attacks in Durbanville and other areas like Gordons’s Bay and Somerset West.

With major cycling events coming up in a few months, runners and cyclists have become easy targets whilst practicing on the trails.

Runners and cyclists have been warned to take extra precautionary measures on roads and  trails.

A robbery case was opened and is currently under investigation.
