David van Boven was yesterday convicted for the double murder of Jesse Hess and her grandfather in 2019.
Jesse Hess 18, a first year theology student was found dead on a bed, while her grandfather 85 year old Chris was discovered tied up in the toilet.

Van Boven was convicted on both counts of murder, two counts of robbery, sexual assault, fraud and theft. Van Boven is also a cousin to Hess.
Co-accused Tasliem Ambrose, was convicted on two counts of robbery. Although present at the scene, he said Van Boven committed all the violent acts that resulted in the deaths of Hess and he grandfather.
Sentencing procedures are expected to begin on 7 June.
