Covid-19 cases in South Africa have jumped by 63 to 1749, with another death recorded in KwaZulu-Natal, health Minister Minister Zweli Mkhize announced yesterday.
Mkhize said that the latest victim of Covid-19 had underlying health issues.
As at today, the total number of confirmed #COVID19 cases is 1749. There is also another death, bringing the total to 13 deaths. It was a male who had stage 4 prostrate cancer at Parklands Hospital. We convey our condolences to the family of the deceased

The latest fatality brings the total number of deaths to 13.
Minister Mkhize said he was worried by the developments at St Augustine’s Hospital in KZN, were 66 have tested positive, about 48 of the positive cases are staff.
“The Provincial dept. is engaging the hospital, with a view to closing parts of the hospital down,” said Mkhize.
“We hope the fumigation process will start soon there,” he added.
Meanwhile, as at 7 April the Western Cape had recorded at total number of 490 Covid-19 cases.
28 people have been admitted to hospital for Covid-19, with 10 receiving care in ICU.
