City of Cape Town to Refine the Cape Town Station Deck in R 2 million project

The city of Cape Town will close down the Station Deck above Cape Town Central train station for maintenance work from Wednesday 16 January until further notice. The Station Deck serves as a mini bus rank and also provides space for small businesses.

The City of Cape Town will boost the Station Deck in a project worth R2 million.

According to the City of Cape Town mayoral committee member for transport Felicity Purchase the Station Deck is one of the most active ranks in Cape Town.

Work to be done on site includes but is not limited to painting buildings and road markings, lighting repairs, as well as potholes repairs.

Meanwhile local minibus taxis will be operating from Grand Parade opposite Cape Town City Hall and long distance taxis will maintain their operations at Station Deck.
